Just before arriving at Saint Peter's last August, I was assigned to the Church of Santa Susanna in Rome. Quite often, I would have the good fortune of visiting Saint Peter's Basilica. Each time that I was there, I was struck by the fact that the universality of the Church was reinforced; there were pilgrims of so many different nationalities, speaking and praying in various languages. People were from all across the face of the earth but joined as brothers and sisters in faith.
Whenever I am asked what do I cherish most about my Catholic faith?, I respond, "we, as a Catholic people, are so diverse in ethnicity, education, economic status and in other various ways, yet we gather as one around the table of the Lord in the Eucharist." As I move to New York, after spending this past year here among you, I have experienced this same reality. The universality and unity of the Church is very much alive in this faith community. This parish mirrors what I experienced so frequently in Rome. This is truly a Catholic Community here at Saint Peter's. My prayer is that it ever remains such a reality, where, "all are welcome", where all are gathered as one around the Table of the Lord. I humbly ask that I ever be in your prayerful intentions.
With much gratitude, Father John.
Popcorn, pizza, and refreshments will be sold. If there is rain, the film will be moved inside into the Auditorium. This is for the whole Annex community, so bring a friend!

We have recently decided to have a focus for each Children's Mass of the month so we can more effectively use this time not only for worship, but also to teach about the basics of our faith. The schedule is as follows:
FIRST Sunday of Month Focus: Virtue of the Month
SECOND Sunday of Month Focus: Saint of the Month
THIRD Sunday of Month Focus: Special Prayers
FOURTH Sunday of Month Focus: NO CHILDREN’S MASS
FIFTH Sunday of Month Focus: Scripture (When applicable)
You may notice that we are skipping each fourth week. That is so we can all worship as one community at 11:15 a.m.. Thank you for all of your continued support as we seek to make St. Peter's even more of a family friendly place.
Mass for Children takes place on Sundays at 11:15 a.m. at St. Catherine room, downstairs. The regular 11:15 Mass is celebrated in the main upstairs church. Parents can either join their children for mass in the “kid friendly” environment... OR drop off their children to worship downstairs while they attend upstairs.
This mass is geared for kids from ages 4-12 in an effort to increase children’s understanding of their Catholic faith as well as to make it easier for young families to come to church. Come and join us for this wonderful new opportunity!.
Our campaign to repair our Church continues. Click here for more information.
To date parishioners have pledged:$320,214
This campaign is especially important now as we continue to work on our church heating system.
If you have a packet, please return it as soon as you can.
To receive a packet contact the office.
Thanks to all who participated in the Campaign.
